We see it as our duty to hold ourselves accountable for jewelry we create. We at Sparklane and the One Tree Project, share a mutual passion for creating a brighter future for all the world's inhabitants. Trees play a vital part in our ecosystem, providing us with carbon dioxide, improving water quality and enriching the soil with important nutrients. This sustainable venture not only promotes environmental education, but helps maintain our environment while providing over 1.6 BILLION jobs to people who inhabit areas where work is less accessible.
As global warming causes temperatures to rise, pollution and overheating are becoming a real threat to our environment. Trees create carbon dioxide that helps stabilize and cool the earth's temperature by 8 degrees Celsius.
KENYA
Kenya's Kijabe Forest was once dominated by trees, but the land has become a more desolate landscape due to illegal deforestation, causing harm to the environment. Much like the Amazon rainforest, these landscapes are an essential habitat for biodiversity.
The Kijabe forest is only about 5,000 hectares, with a community of almost 200,000 people that depend on its flora for clean, healthy water, wood and agriculture.
The illegal timber harvesting that has taken place due to increasing pressure for land significantly threatens this environment. That is why it is important to us to maintain the natural environmental structures of this specific landscape.
AMAZON
The One Tree Project helps rebuild and restore one of the most important rainforests to our ecosystem, the Amazon, impacting biodiversity on a global scale.
Sparklane is not just a jewelry brand; we are a brand with a difference, a voice with a green vision. If we stick together and start consuming responsibly, each little decision can make a much larger impact. That is why we start with planting a tree. Something so little can help generate new beginnings and restore faith in our future for further generations to come. Our process remains ethical at every step of the way, from start to finish, and through these practices, we hope to inspire others to do the same.
